Rudbeckia hirta 'Prairie Sun', commonly known as Gloriosa Daisy, is a vibrant plant that produces large orange-yellow flowers with distinctive soft green centres from summer into early fall. Its long lasting blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it an excellent addition to any garden. This upright, clump forming plant thrives in sunny locations and is well suited to cottage, pollinator, and cut flower gardens. It is easy to grow, tolerates heat and blooms continuously with regular deadheading. As the season ends, the seed heads provide a food source for songbirds.

Watering needs: Moderate; prefers evenly moist, well-drained soil but tolerates short periods of drought once established. Water deeply and infrequently while the plant establishes.

Canadian Hardiness Zone: 3-9 (grown as a short lived perennial, or as a biennial in some regions)

Culture

This plant is grown in a soiless media in a 2L pot. The coco liner on top of the soil reduces moisture loss and prevents the growth of weeds within the pot. It is 100% organic coconut fiber and has no synthetic materials.  When planting, you can keep the liner below the plant and it will break down and enhance the soil over time. Please do not bury the liner in the soil or under mulch. Only apply mulch up to the soil liner.
