FAQs
Hi! Here are some potential answers to questions you might have. If you have any more questions, please reach out and I will be more than happy to help you!
What are your nursery hours?
I am open Sunday - Friday, from 11am - 4pm.
The nursery is closed on Saturdays.
Where are you located on the island?
I currently do not have a street address, but I am located along Big Tancook Island Road, on a piece of property dubbed "Spruce Grove" in Southeast Cove. You can see my nursery across the water from Wishing Stones Studio & Gallery, which is a must see if you come to the island! There are several amazing spots and businesses on the island; make a day trip and come visit them all!
Do you deliver?
I do not offer delivery, but I’ll happily send orders across on the ferry to Little Tancook or to the Chester wharf!
Please see the page "Chester Wharf Pickup Info" if you’re ordering from Chester or another local area before placing an order!
Do you ship through the mail?
No, I do not ship through the mail. Thank you for understanding.
I came to the island on foot/bike. If I want to buy a plant or seven, what do I do with them?
If you're visiting the island and would like to buy some plants but don't want to carry them around with you all day, please just let me know what ferry you're catching! I will happily run your order back to the ferry for you so you can take them back across with you when you leave!
Alternatively, we can arrange a pickup date from the Chester wharf and I’ll send your order across on the ferry for you to pickup then instead!
What kind of plants do you have for sale?
Currently, I offer vegetable and herb transplants, a few different annuals, and a very small selection of perennials. Eventually, I would like to be able to offer all types of plants, and each year my stock will improve! Once I have more greenhouse space, I would like to offer annual hanging baskets and planters as well! Stay tuned!
Do you order plants in and then resell them?
No. Everything I offer has been grown by me right here on Big Tancook Island either from seed or cuttings. I put a lot of time and care into every plant that I sell. I strive for quality!
Are your plants organic?
While I can’t technically use that label at the moment, I do not use, and will not EVER use any harmful chemicals, pesticides, or herbicides. I like to work with nature instead of against it.
