Chester Wharf Pickup Info

If you do not live on Big or Little Tancook but would like to place an order, I am happy to accommodate you! This is a bit of a long read and there is a lot of info, but it is very important to read through this page so you know how this works. 

 

Here is what you have to do to use this service:

 

Simply browse the site like any other online store, and add your desired products to your bag.

Once you’re done browsing, open your bag, but BEFORE you push the “Proceed to checkout” button, please use the "Order special instructions" box at the bottom of the page in your bag, and request that you would like to pick your order up from the Chester wharf. 

Please leave your email and phone number in the instructions as well, so I know how to contact you!

If an order comes through with a name I do not recognize without any information on where it is supposed to go, it will be cancelled. Thank you for understanding. If you have made an account for my website and used your email or phone number to sign up, you don’t have to leave your contact info here, only that you would like to pickup your order from the wharf. I highly recommend making an account!

Once you do this and you place your order, I will process it as soon as I can and will reach out to you. This is when we will decide on a date to send the order. It is unlikely that your order will be sent across on the ferry the same day that you order it. Until it is sent across, your order will be set aside and I will care for everything as usual.

Please note: your order may not get processed immediately. I do not have internet at my nursery, and the cell signal is spotty. I might not receive your order until I get home in the evening and connect to the internet. This is why I say that it is unlikely to be sent on the same day. However, if I do receive it while I'm at the nursery, I will reach out and ask if you'd like it that day. Just remember that this is not guaranteed.

You will not be charged until I fulfill the order and capture the payment. You will probably get a notification that your order is ready to be picked up, but you can disregard that. 

Orders can be sent to the Chester Wharf on the ferry from Monday - Friday, on the 4:30pm ferry crossing. The ferry will depart Tancook at 4:30pm with your order, and will arrive in Chester around ~5:30pm.

Once your order is ready to be sent, it will be placed on a pallet, which the ferry will load and take across to Chester. It will be lifted off of the ferry in Chester once the ferry arrives. Your order will be on a pallet, in a box/tray/something, and will be marked clearly with your name, and “Stranded” so you know it is from me.

Once the ferry is done loading/unloading freight, you may safely collect your order from the pallet. Please do NOT try to collect your order while the ferry crew are still loading or unloading freight, unless you are explicitly given permission to do otherwise by the crew.

 

I only request a few things from you if you want to use this service:

 

Please make sure you are at the wharf to collect your order, and please try not to congest the wharf, or get in the loading zone of the ferry while the ferry crew are working. Thank you for understanding, and for respecting the ferry and the ferry crew!
