Iris versicolor, commonly known as Blue Flag Iris, is a striking North American native perennial that produces elegant violet flowers with yellow and white markings in late spring to early summer. Naturally found in wetlands, marshes, and along the edges of ponds and streams, it thrives in consistently moist to wet soils. Its sword like green foliage provides graceful vertical interest throughout the growing season, even after flowering has finished. The blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, making it a valuable addition to rain gardens and naturalized landscapes. Blue Flag Iris spreads gradually by rhizomes, forming beautiful colonies over time in suitable conditions. All parts of the plant, especially the rhizomes, are toxic if ingested and may cause severe stomach upset and skin irritation in people, cats, and dogs.

Culture
This plant is grown in a soiless media in a 3.5" pot. When planting, do not plant any deeper than how the plant is in it's pot. When mulching, do not put mulch all the way up to the plant, make a "bowl" shape in your mulch around the plant.
