Plant Info
Gaillardia aristata, commonly known as Blanketflower, is a hardy North American native perennial that produces large, daisyesque flowers in shades of red, orange, and yellow from early summer into fall. The long-lasting blooms attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, providing continuous colour throughout the growing season. Its compact, clump-forming habit makes it an excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, prairie plantings, and other sunny landscapes. Blanket Flower thrives in poor, well-drained soils and is highly drought tolerant once established, making it an easy care addition to the garden. Regular deadheading encourages even more blooms, while the seed heads can provide food for birds later in the season.
