Dalea candida, commonly known as White Prairie Clover, is a hardy North American native perennial that produces slender spikes of creamy white flowers from early to mid-summer. The blooms open in rings that gradually move up each flower spike, creating a unique flowering display and providing a long lasting source of nectar for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its fine, fern-like foliage adds soft texture to the garden and helps give the plant an airy appearance. As a member of the pea family, White Prairie Clover forms a relationship with nitrogen fixing bacteria, helping improve soil health over time. It is an excellent choice for prairie plantings, pollinator gardens, and naturalized landscapes.

Watering needs: Low; prefers well drained soil and is highly drought tolerant once established. Water deeply and infrequently while the plant establishes.

Culture

This plant is grown in a soiless media in a 3.5" pot. When planting, do not plant any deeper than how the plant is in it's pot. When mulching, do not put mulch all the way up to the plant, make a "bowl" shape in your mulch around the plant.
