Plant Info
Agastache foeniculum, commonly known as Anise Hyssop, is a fragrant North American native perennial that produces spikes of lavender purple flowers from midsummer into early fall. Its leaves have a sweet anise or licorice scent when crushed, making it a favourite in herb and pollinator gardens. The long lasting blooms attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and many other beneficial insects, providing an excellent source of nectar throughout the growing season. This upright, clump-forming plant is easy to grow, drought tolerant once established, and thrives in sunny locations with well-drained soil. Anise Hyssop readily self-seeds in favourable conditions, creating natural-looking drifts without becoming aggressive.
