Plant Info

Anemone coronaria, commonly known as Poppy Anemone, is an elegant plant grown from corms which produce bright, poppy like flowers from spring - summer. The delicate blooms are held above finely divided, fern like foliage, creating an elegant display in borders, containers, and cut flower gardens. The flowers attract bees and other pollinators and are prized for their long vase life, making them a favourite for floral arrangements. Poppy Anemones thrive in full sun to partial shade and well drained soil, performing best in areas with cool springs and mild summers. In colder parts of Canada, the corms are often lifted in the fall or grown as annuals unless given winter protection. Anemone coronaria contains compounds that are toxic if ingested and may cause mouth irritation, stomach upset, and skin irritation in people, cats, and dogs.

Culture

This plant is grown in a soiless media in a 2L pot. The coco liner on top of the soil reduces moisture loss and prevents the growth of weeds within the pot. It is 100% organic coconut fiber and has no synthetic materials. When planting, you can keep the liner below the plant and it will break down and enhance the soil over time. Please do not bury the liner in the soil or under mulch. Only apply mulch up to the soil liner.
