Genovese Basil is a fragrant annual herb grown for its large, glossy green leaves and rich, sweet flavour. It is the classic basil used in pesto, pasta sauces, salads, and many Mediterranean dishes. The aromatic foliage can be harvested throughout the growing season, while pinching off flower buds encourages the plant to produce even more leaves. If allowed to bloom, the small white flowers attract bees and other beneficial pollinators. Genovese Basil thrives in full sun, warm temperatures, and well drained soil, making it an excellent choice for gardens, raised beds, and containers.
