Mourning Bride Scabiosa is an unusual annual that produces pincushion like flowers in shades of deep burgundy, purple, and pink from early summer until the first frost. It blooms over a long season and attracts bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The delicate blooms are held on long, slender stems, making them excellent for cut flower arrangements, while the decorative seed heads add interest after flowering. Mourning Bride thrives in full sun and well drained soil, and regular deadheading encourages an abundance of blooms throughout the season.
